Prior to his call to the Ghana Bar, William worked as a Senior Finance Officer at the Methodist Church Ghana Head Office, Accra and was directly in charge of Payroll and Final Accounts. He also served as the Project Accountant on the Church’s special HIV and AIDS advocacy programme run in collaboration with the Ghana AIDS Commission.
Biography
Before joining the Shield Attorneys, William worked with the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA). He was employed as a Legal officer in November 2020 and by March 2021 appointed as the acting head of the Legal Services Department (LSD) of the FDA and subsequently confirmed as the Head of the LSD in 2023.
William assisted the Authority with all its compliance and legal matters and has represented the Authority in Court and out of Court on diverse legal matters including collaborations with the Attorney General’s Department in prosecuting FDA regulatory crimes.
He was a member of the technical team that reviewed the draft Legislative Instruments (LI) on: (1) Communicable Diseases (2) Vaccination (3) Quarantine and (4) Vector Control. He is also a member of the Technical Committee currently drafting the Legislative Instrument (LI) on the Alcohol Control Regulations.
William is also a member of the Expert Working Group of the West Africa Health Organization (WAHO) on Policy, Legislation and Regulation. He is also a member of the African Union (AU) 3S Continental Working Group, Legal and Policy. William has attended several workshops both national and international on how to combat the menace of Substandard and Falsified Medicines in Africa and the sub-region and matters of regulation generally.
William has also worked as an Associate at Sam Okudzeto & Associates where he handled varied briefs. He successfully represented clients in suits including suits against the defunct Microfinance Companies and Fund Management Companies in Ghana, issues of Custody and Maintenance, Estates, Criminal matters among others.

He is a member of the Ghana Bar Association. He holds HND in Accounting, BBA Accounting, MBA in Finance, LLB in Law, Certificate in Energy Law and a Professional Certificate in Law.
